Balance Living Center is pleased to offer the following Mindfulness Meditation workshops, taught by an amazing collection of instructors. Each workshop focuses on a specific topic and how mindfulness meditation can influence it. The workshops being offered will be taught by a different instructor(s) and the courses can be taken as an independent session or as a series (any combination) however registration and payment is directly with the individual instructor(s). If you have any questions, please reach out directly to the specific instructor(s) of the course you are interested in.
We all hear the phrase "back to normal" with regularity nowadays. The reality is we can't go back; we can only move forward. With the support of mindful meditation practices, we can learn to move forward with intention.
When: 1/12, 6-7pm
Mindfulness is showing up everywhere...in hospitals, sports, jails, and, yes, even in schools. Are you a little bit curious about mindfulness, but don’t know where to start? It’s time to build your nest! This 3 part workshop will help you understand the basics of both the science behind and the practice of mindfulness. You should leave these workshops with tangible, quick and simple techniques that can be used at home by you AND in the classroom with your students. Part 1 of the workshop will provide information about how to begin the practice of mindfulness (even the very next day!) and Parts 2 and 3 will dive deeper into how mindfulness connects to the topics of Trauma and Epigenetics.
When: 1.27.2021, 4:30-6pm
Cost: $20 for each session, $50 for all three

Part 2 will explore just how important the practice of Mindfulness is to physically change the brain's ability to function via practice.
When: Part 1 = 2.8.21, 7-8:15pm
Part 2 = 2.15.21, 7-8:15pm
Cost: Suggested donation of
$30-40 for each.
#1 Self-Compassion, practicing loving kindness for self.
When we are compassionate toward ourselves and non-judgemental in our ability to practice meditation, we can find ease in sharing these practices with others. There is really no “wrong” way to do this. You are invited to explore loving kindness through formal practice as well as more playful and informal exercises. Each workshop will build on these skills.
#2 Compassion for something that is causing stress/pain, building on practice of loving kindness toward self and that thing. (Include a positive thing)
#3 Compassion for someone that is causing stress/pain, building on practice toward self, that thing and then to someone. (Include a positive person)
#4 Compassion for all beings, building on the practice toward self > thing > person > all.
