Mind (three part series): Creating the nest

Mindfulness is showing up everywhere...in hospitals, sports, jails, and, yes, even in schools. Are you a little bit curious about mindfulness, but don’t know where to start?  It’s time to build your nest!  This  3 part workshop will help you understand the basics of both the science behind and the practice of mindfulness. You should leave these workshops with tangible, quick and simple techniques that can be used at home by you AND in the classroom with your students.  Part 1 of the workshop  will provide information about how to begin the practice of mindfulness (even the very next day!) and Parts 2 and 3 will dive deeper into how mindfulness connects to  the topics of Trauma and Epigenetics.

Part 1 will explore how we store stress on a cellular level from the time of childhood to the present day.

Part 2 will explore just how important the practice of Mindfulness is to physically change the brain's ability to function via practice.

Each workshop will build on these skills.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

MBSR is an 8-week evidence based, experiential program designed to provide participants with intensive and systematic training in mindfulness meditation and movement practices, and integrating into one’s daily life what is discovered and learned through the process of participating in the program.
